Tonex - This is just the beginning. Updated 27th SEPT 07

Well this truly saddens me. I have been talking about this kind of stuff for a long time now. to be honest I have heard about Tonex, but did not know alot about him. I've seen his funky hair doos, his out there dressing but never really paid much attention.

This is a clip of his latest song "The naked truth" (And by the way this guys is a Senior Pastor)

My issue with todays "gospel artists" is just that. "Artists". As a chrsitian singer, musician, etc... are you not supposed to be a "minister" of the gospel. An encourager to the saints, edifying and building up the body of Christ?

Sadly. many of todays gospel artist are trying to do things like the world, except by adding Jesus once in a while. It has become all about money and business. As one of these "big" gospel artists to come and sing at your local church, and you will be hit with a long list of requirements, i.e. 10 first class tickets for the entourage, 2 penthouse suites, ... It makes me sick if im really blunt with you.

This is Tonexs rebuttal to the mediatakeout scandal. He clearly shows no repentance or humility.

This guy Tonex has now exposed the devil and his plan in the gospel music industry.
It is time for chrsitians to wake up and stop bein so sentiment and out right idolatorous.
STOP ADVOCATING THESE CHRISTIAN (SECULAR?) ARTISTS BY BUYING UP THERE CDS AND GOING TO THERE CONCERTS. ITS TIME TO TAKE A STAND.

UPDATED 27th SEPTEMBER 2007

Tonex's apology. Lets hope this is a genuine turn for the better.

Preach it bro,

Tonex made a comment on the Gospel Revue Show on the UCB Channel last year where he stated that the character Tonex is "carnal and pertains more to the flesh side of a person"

I don't understand why as Christians we don't discern more and realise when someone no matter who is not portraying the real truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Yes Tonex does need prayer but we also need to discern that this is not a true representation of the truth... Avoid at all costs..

We should be encouraging our youth to stop supporting this nonesense and get back to scripture..

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

It seems that we are relying on gimmicks to convert people to Christianity rather than the truth of the Word of God..

I've noticed from reader comments on other websites regarding the recent behaviour of Tonex and Yolanda Adams that more people are defending their actions based upon what they feel about the artist rather than true biblical discernment...

A very sad state of affairs indeed....

Ps: Would like to get in contact with you my name is Steve Campbell please holla at me..
You can email me at tpbtm@hotmail.com

Thanks..

Absolutely shocking and saddening. I couldn't BELIEVE the profane language on that track! How can a professing Christian write, record and then DEFEND such lyrics?

Other contemporary Cristian artists have written about serious life issues without resorting to such antics - for example the Cross Movement track "Catch 22" or "Shout" by Kirk Franklin.

Simply no need for it.

And he's a senior pastor? What kind of spiritual guidance and counsel does his flock receive? I'm reminded of Proverbs 29:12:

"If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked."

Wow, why would someone follow Yahshua when a person like this, is supposed to be representing him. People study the WORD for yourself. This guy has a filthy mouth.

I received an e-mail from a friend of mine last week, of Tonex's apology to the Body of Christ. However, I was fully unaware of what this apology was really about, and the why's. I finally talked to my friend, and he began to share some tid bits with me. I decided to go online, and look around, and found a few things. I heard about his lashing out, and cussing folks out in a letter that he put out on the internet, or someone else who had access to it put it out there.

Then, I came across this site, and learned a lil more, including hearing some things about "The Naked Truth."

There are so many thoughts running through my mind, to many to share here.

All I will say is that our brother needs prayer, and needs people around him, who do not have ulterior motives, to minister to him, pray for him, listen to him, counsel him, and be a support system to him.

Personally, I don't believe he is less of a christian, for saying what he's said, or even doing what he's done. I firmly believe that he has acted out of anger, an anger which I know a lot about.

He spoke about being ridiculed by the church...the institution he's given his life for...he talked about being called many names by those who say they love the Lord, and profess to be christian. So what he may have been different from them. He spoke of being molested by a preacher at the age of six.

All of this I can identify with...but, I didn't have the public eye that he has. Yet, in these latter years of my life, after a bad marital separation, I experienced the anger, the lashing out, and many other things.

So, I cannot judge him at all. If he reads this, Tonex, Brother, I love you, and am praying for you, as I've done for years, and I will say to be encouraged...this too shall pass.

It amazes me how "nobody's " like myself need time to recover from wounds/error/sin etc.. but the Chirstian "celebrities" have this microwave recovery time!!! Is he serious?!!! He's doing a reality show?!! No time to be in God's prescence and deal with the pain of molestation and divorce because the contract is signed and they'll be shooting before the end of the year!!

This is madness! It's horrible that the people of God allow themselves to be sold to hollywood and become bound to contracts and "busyness" to satisfy the flesh and the fans. He has to be devastated! "It's out now. and I'm fine". Give me a break!! He's not fine. He would have to be bipolar to genuinely beleive that.

He needs time to heal. I never cared for him because he reminded me of a wanna be Prince. He came across like he didn't get that R&B deal he really wanted! But I am aware and have compassion for his pain and see that it was all an act to cover the emotional bruises. God help him! I pray he just gives it all up so he can truly and FINALLY be whole.

wow. i thank God for discernment, so he cussed and cusssed some more then went back and realised he messed up, and quickly dorned a pink shirt nice tie(looking church like) to apologise? why bother? this here is no diff from celebs running around messing up and then coming on air with a holy suit on to say they have changed , and oh to plug there next project. I never liked the air about Tonex, and many others. God is watching us ppl God is watching

Myyyy goodness, yall. The man admits he messed up!!! Give him a break! No one here has been perfect in their walk with Christ! Remember when the Bible says, "if you do sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ..." Sometimes a man fall, sometimes we think, say or do something that is totally out of the will of God. But thank God for his grace and mercy! I'm glad none of ya'll are God. We all would be dead...no mercy at all! Thank you Jesus for when I have fallen, you are there to pick me up and help me to start over again.

It's a good thing we don't compromise. People have a right to criticize and look at fruits. Even the Bible says that. So, we have no right to expose evil? No, we have a right to expose evil. No one is attempting to act as God but we have a God given right to discern. We will see if Tonex really changes since humans have claimed to have changed then revert back to the world.

Now Tonex is modeling underwear for Calvin Klein and embraces homosexuals and lesbians as brothers and sisters in Christ. He has finally embraced the false doctrine of inclusionism pimped out there by the heretic Carlton Pearson. Just sad. I'm through with Anthony "Tonex" Williams for good. I have thrown all of his music and the dvd "Out the Box" in the garbage. He is a disgrace and needs to repent lest his candlestick be removed.
